At the same time contributed to group shows within Tokyo’s art galleries in Ginza, Shibuya and Ueno. In 2000 Estelle moved to Los Angeles and participated in numerous group shows. Yvon Jolivet

Honorable Mention

Yvon Jolivet is a self-taught Canadian artist born in Quebec an a  scientist by training where he worked for several decades as a research  professional.

His photographic approach has tended to highlight the  natural environment by the symbolism that emerges from it. He often use a  proximity photographic approach, which divides the territory into more  complex fragments. This allows him to bring a new meaning to the forms  and the natural rhythm which govern our environment.

Because he incorporates his photographs into different stories, he treats his photographic subjects like ideograms. The purpose of which is to represent the meaning of a word or an concrete or abstract idea.  This "ideographic" approach also  facilitates the integration of the same photograph within different  series or stories and therefore brings fluidity to this too often static art.

His photographic approach has allowed him, since 2016, more than forty international honorary distinctions  including the silver medal in Fine Arts at the PX3 (Paris Photography  Prize). His photographs have been exhibited in several Art Galleries around the world.

Yvon Jolivet is a professionnal member of RAAV (Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec) and CARFAC (Canadian Artists Representation)

Bob McCormac

Honorable Mention

I spent forty years as an IT professional before retiring to pursue my passion for photography. I first started shooting film over fifty years ago but stopped for many years. During the last eight years, digital photography has rekindled my excitement with photography and I’m continuing the journey I started with film. I am primarily a travel and landscape photographer but enjoy all genres of photography. My style and approach is simple and direct; I’m remembering in my mind’s eye the scene I captured and trying to bring that same emotion I felt to the finalized image.

Sarah simmerman

Honorable Mention

I’ve always been fascinated by color. Colors can create a feeling, inspire a desired mindset, or trigger a memory in your subconscious. In my work I use color to express myself, my palette is chosen by my current state of mind or memories that are currently at top of mind. I am intrigued by how individuals can experience the same art differently based on their past experiences. I pull inspiration for my work from my internal thoughts, music, hikes through the Sonoran Desert, and from textures and patterns found in nature. I love that abstract art can convey specific energy by using various brushstrokes, textures, layers, and colors. It can inspire energy and motion or tranquility and peacefulness. As a quiet person, I have used art throughout my entire life to help express and process my feelings. When I was younger, I struggled with anxiety and self-confidence, and my art was a way to find my voice in the world.

Fabienne Sowa-dobkowski

Honorable Mention

I am a California-based digital photographer and art historian. Using photography as a primary form of artistic expression, I discovered a passion for nature photography and illuminating the hidden world for the viewer. Deeply rooted in the history of fine-arts traditions, my abstract photography series aim at capturing the ephemeral essential forms, shapes, and or textures of natural elements. To capture the ephemeral qualities and atmosphere of natural elements, I use, mostly, a handheld camera. My distinct post-processing techniques seeks to arouse the senses while highlighting the ordinary world. Each process is inspired by the natural element itself and what will best bring its essence to life.
